Well, we were able to feel a little spring weather
this past week. Unfortunately this nice weather will not be lasting.
I was able to take the boys and the dog for a day out to just run!
We have all had a bad case of cabin fever!
On this particular day Elijah did not want to wear his stocking cap so as the morning went on he
put up his hoodie and looked so cute. He just loves to be outside.
I just took Caleb to sign up for little leauge. I'm not so sure about this. Caleb has only had 2years of tee-ball and that wasn't a good experience. As the Coach said "Caleb is uncoachable"
As a parent you always want your child to get along with others, be a part of a team and yes, listen to the coach. Well this is not Caleb. He is strong minded, often acts like he knows it all and does not do so well at getting along with others.
He will be doing try-outs in March. I will keep you all posted as to how this new adventure for us goes.
Elijah is now going to day-care 5 days a week. This is so hard for me, but I know he just loves
it. He gets so excited when we pull in the parking lot. I also know the benefits of having peer influences. Elijah is still in speech therapy. I know that this is helping him. However he is a man of little words. He says about 6 words.
"ish" which means fish, "sh" which means shoes, "hi dad" which is exactly what he means,
"abowl" which means apple, "uck" for duck and he will shake his head for yes & no.
We do use sign language with Elijah. Yes, he is getting it. He now knows three signs.
We found out this week that Gary will be attending the Pittsburgh School for the blind in March.
He will be leaving March 9. I am so thankful that he will only be going 5 days a week.
This has been a difficult 6 months, but I'm sure we will survive this change too.
If it sounds like I'm trying to convince myself, Iam.
This time that Gary will be away will be difficult for Elijah he is so much a Daddy's boy.
He often follows his dad around and is always watching sports on t.v with dad.
For Caleb this will be hard also. Gary is definately the disciplinarine in our home and
Caleb does not always treat me with respect when this happen Gary takes care of it.
Well, as Caleb's therapist has told me I need to become more like a military sargent with him.
This is not my personality, but I will try.
I do have a wonderful friend who has offered to step in if Caleb gets too difficult.
I have had Elijah to the emergency room 2 times this week.
Monday, a friend of Elijah's pushed him down the stairs. I wouldn't have worried about it, but his eye immediately became swollen shut and also the side of his face.
Thank God the x-rays said all was well.
Then Sunday morning we were back at the emergency room when Elijah had been running a fever of 103.8
He has a double ear infection and also severe sinus infection.
So we are back on antibiotics for the 4th time since the beginning of December.
He just can't shake this sinus stuff.
Raising Boys is not an easy job!
Well, stay warm, read a good book and give a hug!
